- The 1900 census states that she was born in Sep 1892 and her marriage record states that it was Brooklyn. Her marriage record gives her parents' names as Edward Kirchner and Mary Dietzel. Note that there are two Bertha Kirchners in the 1900 census born in Sep 1892, both with mother's named Mary. But one has father Edward while another has father Frederick.

Robert J. Minigan, 79, husband of Edna M. (Burgoyne) Minigan, died unexpectedly in Virginia while visiting his family. Born in Beverly, son of the late Richard W. and Mary (Dolan) Minigan, he was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s and Beverly High School. Minigan was a communicant of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church. A retired head cashier for Railway Express Agency in Alston, after 36 years of service, he was an active officer of the Brotherhood of Railway and Airline clerks, serving as a district representative for the northeastern sector. He was a past chairman of the Beverly Housing Authority and active in local politics, serving as a warden at the polling stations. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Degan Council No. 175 and was a grand knight, district deputy, secretary and treasurer. He was active in yearly candy drives for challenged and disabled children. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter in law, Michael and Elizabeth Minigan of Herdon, VA; a brother, William Minigan of Beverly; a sister, Mary Larivee of Beverly; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Jeremiah and Frances; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard T. Minigan and Susan Harney. His funeral will be on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Beverly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem, Msgr. Degan Council No. 175 will conduct a service at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.2 |

Born in Beverly, daughter of Richard W. and Mary Jane (Dolan) Minigan, she was a lifelong resident of Beverly. Mrs. Larivee was a 1930 graduate of Beverly High School. She continued her education at Salem Commercial School. Mrs. Larivee was employed with the United Shoe Machine Corporation and worked in the A3 office until her marriage. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of North Beverly for 48 years. Surviving her are a brother and sister-in-law; William J. and Elvita Minigan of Beverly; a brother-in-law, Fred Harney Sr. of Long Boat Key, Fla., a sister-in-law, Edna Minigan of Beverly, and 12 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Richard T., Robert J., John and Francis Minigan. Her funeral will be on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. from St. John the Evangelist Church, Beverly. Visiting hours are today from 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in St. Mary’s cemetery in Beverly.5 |
