Military funeral services for Falmiano Brunello, 63, of 681 Farmington Ave., who died Thursday at New Britain General Hospital after collapsing at Beaver and Broad streets, were held today at 8:15 a.m. from the Sorbo Funeral Home and 9 o'clock at St. Ann's Church. The Rev. Francis T. McGlynn of St. Maurice Church celebrated a Solemn High Requiem Mass, with the Rev. Anthony J. Salemi as deacon and the Rev. Dennis R. Hussey as sub-deacon. Bearers, all members of Eddy-Glover Post, American Legion, were headed by Commander Bernard J. Fitzpatrick; Robert Bellinger, Jr., Waldo Pierce, Francis Morrissey, John Costa, Vance Bendott and John Bendott. A firing squad from the third battalion, 169th National Guard Regiment, headed by CWO Donald R. Barrett, fired a volley over the grave. Bugler Charles Herzy sounded taps. Warrant Officer Barrett presented an American flag used in services to Mrs. Brunello. Father Hussey conducted committal services at the grave. Burial was in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery.3 |

Born in Cannicatti, Agregento, Italy, he lived in New Britain for 75 years and had been employed at The Stanley Works, retiring in 1959. An active musician in the area, he had played with the New Britain Military Band, the J.C. Lentini Band and the Vito DiFronzo Band. he was a member of St. Ann's Church, the Generale Ameglio Society, the YMCA and the New Britain Senior Center. Surviving are a son, Angelo Insalaco of Holliston, Mass; a daughter, Joanne Cardella of New Britain, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. | The 1920 census of New Britain shows them living at 213 Washington St., the same address as the family of Maichi and Fanny "Buscene". Who these two are is presently unknown, but this was the same address that one year earlier the 1919 city directory shows as the home of Carmela Buscemi. Calogero doesn't appear in the 1919 city directory. In 1922 they were at 55 Lafayette St., where the Buscemis also lived at the time. In 1926 both families were living at 681 Farmington St. and continued to live there for some years. In 1947 Insalaco was at 1407 Corbin Ave. and in 1948 he wasn't listed. In 1950 he was back at 681 Farmington Ave. His last residence when he died was 65 Pike St. in New Britain.

Loving father of Mary and Jonathan. Dear friend of Bill and Miss Lilly. Ed grew up on a horse farm and at an early age assumed all of the responsibilities and care of the horses. As a young teenager, Ed ran the family Riding Academy where he taught children of all ages how to ride, care for, love and appreciate the beauty of horses. In his adulthood Eddie continued his relationship and love for horses and performed in rodeos. Relatives and friends are invited to Eddies Life Celebration Friday 7-9PM at Inglesby/Givnish’s of Maple Shade, 600 E.
