Probate and land records in Essex County, Massachusetts suggest that Maturin Rciker's wife may have been Sarah Simmons baptized at Bradford 4 August 1672 daughter of John and Elizabeth (Boynton) Simmons. The 1708 will of John Simmons includes a bequest to "Daughter Sarah alias reckords." (Essex County, MA: Probate File Papers, 1638-1881.)
On 20 March 1711/12 (deed recorded 23 February 1712/13), Sarah Ricker alias Records, widow of Dover in the province of New Hampshire, in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds by Nathaniel Griffin, conveyed to Nathaniel Griffin a “twelve pound share” or “my part of fourscore acres of land that my Father John Simmons late of Bradford gave to me by his last will and testament bearing date March 11th 1708.” (Essex County Deeds, 26:109.) |
