Her obituary appeared on the website of the Solimine Funeral Home in Lynn and read as follows:

Claire Maguire, February 2, 1921 - May 27, 2017. Claire Maguire, 96, died peacefully at home on May 27, 2017 surrounded by family. Beloved wife of the late John Maguire for 52 years. Survived by Linda and David Mann of Peabody, John and Kate Maguire and Kevin and Amy Maguire of Marblehead and the late Patricia and David Guerra. Beloved grandmother of Maura, Matt, Brooke, Katelyn, Zachary, Jack and Casey and adored great grandchildren Joseph, Caroline and Michael. A 1938 graduate of Salem High School, she joined a professional dance troupe The Starlets and toured the country dancing with the Big Bands. In 1941 she moved to New York and became a Rockette. This fulfilled her dream that she wrote in her high school yearbook "to see my name in lights". And for everyone who knew her she was a STAR. Her dancing career ended in January 1944 when she married Jack, a first lieutenant in the Army. They lived in Los Alamos New Mexico where Jack was stationed as a security officer on the Manhattan Project. In 1945 they returned to Lynn to raise a family. Claire later joined the world of real estate as a broker for A.J. Lynch in Lynn. A member of Salem Country Club for 58 years, she enjoyed bowling, golf and bridge. Her love of theatre and dance continued throughout her life but love of family and wonderful parties was her mainstay. A celebration of Claire will be held at the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129) Lynn. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 10AM-11AM followed by a funeral service at 11AM in the funeral home, and then burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Mary's High School, 35 Tremont St. Lynn, MA.6
