Marriage*

He married Lorraine Drinkwater, daughter of James Arthur Drinkwater and Mary Lucretia Montgomery, on 16 November 1933 in Wolfeboro, Carroll County, New Hampshire^G. George was a leather worker and Lorraine was a waitress and they were both living in Salem, Mass.²

Death*

George Edward Maguire died of a heart attack on 4 August 1962 at J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody, Essex County, Massachusetts^G.³

Burial*

He was buried on 7 August 1962 in St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts^G.³

When their first two sons John and David were born in 1934 and 1936 they were living at 148 Washington Street in Peabody. George was a leather worker in 1934 but had become a bus driver by 1936 and kept that occupation during the time all of his children were born. When their third and fourth sons were born in 1937 and 1939 the family was at 10 Greenway Road in Salem. They had moved to 4 Lincoln Road in Salem for the births of their last two sons Robert and George in 1942 and 1944. They were still living at that address when George died in Aug 1962. His final occupation was as a bus driver for the Eastern Mass. Street Railway.

His obituary appeared in the 6 August 1962 Daily Item of Lynn and read as follows:

George E. Maguire, 54, of 4 Lincoln Rd., Salem, a bus driver for the Eastern Mass. Street Railway Co., died suddenly Saturday at the J. B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody. A native of Salem and a Marine Corps veteran he was past president of the former Salem local of the bus drivers and served on the Governor's Council for Labor. He was a member of the Hibernians and Knights of Columbus in Salem. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lorraine (Drinkwater) Maguire; six sons, John Maguire, David Maguire, Peter Maguire, Michael Maguire, Robert Maguire and George Maguire, Jr., all of Salem; two brothers, John Maguire of Lynn and James R. Maguire of Salem; eight sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Pelletier of Swampscott, Mrs. Mary Tuttle of Salem, Mrs. Jane Blye of Staten Island, N.Y, Mrs. Katherine Carroll of Beverly, Mrs. Ellen Strom of Chelmsford, Mrs. Ruth Pierce and Mrs. Agnes Adrien, both of Danvers, and Mrs. Susan Fenton of Salem. The funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home, 83 Federal St., Salem, Tuesday, at 8 AM with a Solemn Requiem Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem..⁴

When they got marrid in 1942 they were both living on Nahant Street in Lynn, Mass., Clarence at 61 and Mary at 51. Clarence was a truck driver at the time. They were living at 310 Broadway in Cambridge, Mass. when their daughter Ellen was born in Oct 1946 and Clarence was working as a truck driver. When her sister Elizabeth died in Sep 1962 she was living in Salem.

When clarence died in Nov 1975 they were living at 12 Cedar Avenue in Salem. Mary was still there when she died in May 1987.

When they were married in Nov 1940 Wilson was a traffic manager living at 69 Clarendon Avenue in Lynn, Mass. while Jane was a dietician living at 12 Hawthorne Boulevard in Salem.

Wilson was living in Brooklyn when his mother died in 1944. He and Jane were living in the NYC area when their daughters Susan and Catherine were born, so may have been married there.

When the 1950 census was taken they were living at 55 Elmwood Avenue, first floor, in Lynn. Wilson worked as the manager of a freight terminal.

When her sister Elizabeth died in Sep 1962 she was living in Stalen Island, N.Y. They were still there in Mar 1971 when Wilson's sister Lois Wright died.

When they were married in Dec 1934 Edmund was a manager living at 15 1/2 Upham Street in Peabody, Mass. while Katherine was living at 9 Cedar Avenue in Salem.

When their daughter Catherine was born in Mar 1937 Edmund was employed as a clerk and they were living at 12 1/2 Dearborn Street in Salem.

The 1950 census found them living at 69 Kernwood Avenue in Beverly, Mass. with their two teenage daughters. Edmund worked as a "time study man" for a shoe machinery factory. She was still living in Beverly when her sister Elizabeth died in Sep 1962. When Edmund died in Oct 1972 they were still at the Kernwood address and he was working as a foundry manager for the United Shoe Machinery Corporation.
