Born in Salem, the daughter of the late Aristide and Bertha (DeRosier) St.Pierre, MaryJane was a graduate of Salem High School before going to work with Soucy Insurance Agency of Salem and also Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance. MaryJane devoted the majority of her life caring for her youngest son, Scott, who was stricken with muscular dystrophy since birth and passed away in February, 2012. They now share in an eternity of afterlife together. She is survived by a son, Robert Maguire of Bristol, CT, a daughter Kathleen Maguire of Colorado, her grandchildren Matthew Maguire of Tennessee, Kelley, Connor, and Evan, of Connecticut and her great-grandchildren, Brianna, Landon, and Peyton, two sisters, Jeannette Darcy of Florida, and Rita LeBlanc of Beverly. MaryJane was also the former wife of the late Robert “Bud” Maguire.5 |

Born in Beverly, Scott lived most of his life in Salem. He was a lifelong advocate for disabled people and had been a member of the Commission on Disabilities in Salem. Scott lived with Muscular Dystrophy and used a wheelchair. Together with his golden retriever named Jordan, Scott worked for Sears Roebuck Credit in Salem and for the Salem News Subscription Department. Scott and Jordan traveled everywhere together and were featured in multiple newspapers. Along with his mother Mary Jane (St. Pierre) Maguire of Saugus, Scott is survived by a brother, Robert Maguire of CT, a sister, Kathleen Maguire of CO, and several nieces and nephews.3 |

Charles W. Tiffin. Funeral services for Charles William Tiffin, former well-known resident of Ridgewood, were held on Tuesday evening in the Van Emburgh Mortuary Chapel, with his former pastor, the Rev Gordon M. Torgersen, of Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Interment took place on Wednesday morning in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Mr. Tiffin, who had been in somewhat frail health for the past few years, died on October 31 from preumonia, at his home in Manchester, Conn. His daughter, Mrs. Donald Morrison of Connecticut, the former Ruth Tiffin, was with her mother at his bedside. His son, Donald Francis Tiffin, who is a student at the Mining Engineering School in Golden, Colorado, was summoned, and arrived with his wife, the former Barbara Witter of Ridgewood, on Tuesday evening just in time for the funeral services. They accompanied Mrs. Tiffin back to Manchester on Friday, and will be with her for some time. Mr. Tiffin was born in New York City on May 26, 1887. The family had made their home in Ridgewood for nearly 20 years, and had been prominent members of Emmanuel Church during their residence here. Mr. Tiffin had been a member of the Official Board. He was an accountant in the copper industry, retiring a few years ago when his health began to fail. Soon after that Mr. and Mrs. Tiffin sold their Ridgewood home on Fairway Road, and went to Connecticut to live. He is survived by his wife, Alice Tolman Tiffin, his daughter and son.7 |

Bobby, as she was called by family and friends, was born in Port Washington, New York March 14, 1924 to the late Daisy and Chester Witter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Francis Tiffin, and a daughter, Donna Alice Tiffin. Bobby was known for her love of bridge, golf, and bowling. She enjoyed all three and developed many friendships through these activities. She is survived by a son, Ken Tiffin (wife, Janet), daughter, Patti Collins (husband Jim), and daughter, Barb (husband, Ron.) Bobby had five grandchildren, Ryan Tiffin (wife Roxanne), Boyd Tiffin (wife, CJ), Jill Collins, Dan Collins, (wife, Lauren), and TJ Collins (wife, Kristina.) In addition, Bobby had three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cody, and Kaylee Tiffin. It was her wish that no funeral or service be held. Her family plans a private gathering when her ashes will be placed in a niche with her husband at the Merle Hay Mausoleum in Des Moines, Iowa.3 |
