| At the time of the 1841 census Abigail was living at 2 Horseshoe Alley, Middlesex Street with Benjamin and Julia Jacobs, both born about 1820, general dealer, and with Mary (1838) and Maria (1840). Perhaps Benjamin was her brother, and Mary and Maria her nieces? In 1851 Amelia is still lodging with Benjamin and Julia, and their children Amelia (1838) (ie Mary in prev census), Maria (1841), Israel (or Samuel) (1842), Abigail (1846) & Elizabeth (1848). Elizabeth Jacobs (1829) is also lodging there. She was still living there when she married John in 1852.4 |

- The 1861 census gives her place of birth as Spitalfields and in 1871 it said simply "City of London." She was aged 36 in 1861 and 48 in 1871.

| Abraham had a clothing shop in Victoria that had "Jackson" in its name and at some point he ended up changing his surname from Aarons to Jackson after the name of his shop. On June 16, 1900 he and his brother Barnett were both injured in a railway accident at Slough Railway Station on the Great Western Main Line when an express train from London Paddington to Falmouth Docks ran through two sets of signals at danger, and collided with another train. Five people were killed, 35 seriously injured, and 90 complained of shock or minor injuries. It is not known how extensive Abraham's or Barnett's injuries were. More can be found online about this accident through a simple search.4 |

Ten years later they were at 18 Leman Street in Whitechapel and he was self-employed as a new and second hand clothier. Based on the ages of their children they had been living in Whitechapel for at least four years. In 1911 they were at the same address and his occupation was stated as "Dealer in Second Hand Clothing." His son Jack worked with him. In all three of these censuses the family had a servant living with them. By 1925 they were living at 151 Walm Lane in Willesden/Cricklewood in London. |
