Ira Wallingford
M, b. 13 or 18 November 1823, d. 13 November 1853
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Ira Wallingford was born 13 or 18 November 1823 in Milton, Strafford County, New HampshireG. (His gravestone says he died in 1853 aged 30, and Shackford says he died in November on his 30th birthday.1 Ira's son Thomas was one of Shackford's informants, so this information is probably true.)2 |
Marriage* | He married Delania D. Thompson, daughter of Samuel Thompson and Betsey Seavey, on 13 May 1848 in Dover, Strafford County, New HampshireG. They were married by the Rev. J.G. Forman, and were both from Dover.3,4 |
Death* | Ira died on 13 November 1853, probably in Milton, Strafford County, New HampshireG. He was buried in the Plummer-Jones-Palmer Cemetery on Plummer's Ridge in Milton.5,6,7 |
| In the 1850 census of Milton Ira is a 26-year old farmer, born N.H., with a farm worth $1000, which seems to be a little better than average for its time. With him is his wife "Delana", age 24 born N.H., and son Thomas C., age 2, born N.H. His brother David and family are living on the same farm.8 Both Ira and Delania died before the next census in 1860, and their children have not been located in that census in N.H. |

This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Delania D. Thompson was born circa 1826 in Sandwich, Strafford County, New HampshireG. (Gravestone, which also gives names of her parents, except for her mother's maiden name which comes from Shackford.)1 |
Marriage* | She married Ira Wallingford, son of Samuel Wallingford and Sally Worster, on 13 May 1848 in Dover, Strafford County, New HampshireG. They were married by the Rev. J.G. Forman, and were both from Dover.2,3 |
Death* | Delania died on 28 January 1860, probably in Milton, Strafford County, New HampshireG. She was buried in the Plummer-Jones-Palmer Cemetery on Plummer's Ridge in Milton.4 |
| Her name was spelled Delana on her tombstone and Delane on that of her son Frank. Is she the Delany Wallingford of Milton who married in Sanford, Maine, 8 June 1856, Albert Mason of Sandwich?5 This may explain where the family was in the 1860 census if they had gone to Sandwich to live with Albert Mason. |

Frank Edwin Wallingford
M, b. June 1851, d. 28 March 1914
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Frank Edwin Wallingford was born in June 1851 in Milton, Strafford County, New HampshireG.1 |
Marriage* | He married first Louisa F. Webster, daughter of George Webster and Mary (?), on 25 March 1875 in Boston, Suffolk County, MassachusettsG. At the time of their marriage Frank was a livery stable keeper and they were both living in Boston.2 |
Marriage* | He married second Ellen F. Hennessey, daughter of William Hennessey and Ellen Daley, on 4 May 1910 in Boston, Suffolk County, MassachusettsG. At the time of their marriage Frank was a horse dealer living at "Merrimac House" in Boston and Ellen was living at 88 High St. in Boston.3 |
Death* | Frank died of general paresis on 28 March 1914 at Boston State Hospital in Boston, Suffolk County, MassachusettsG. He was buried in the Plummer-Jones-Palmer Cemetery on Plummer's Ridge in Milton, N.H.45 |
| After he was orphaned in 1860 he went to live on the farm of Charles Jones of Milton, a rather prosperous individual who in 1860 had a farm worth $16,000 and in 1870 worth $33,000, according to the censuses. Frank was listed in the Jones household in both years, the second time as an 18-year old farm labourer, born in N.H.6 Charles Jones may be a relation, given that Frank's uncle David Wallingford married a Susan A. Jones.
Frank lived in Newton and Brighton, Mass. and was a dealer in horses for a "Mr. Snow". He may have married a second time. He had no children.7 His death record gave his occupation as horse dealer, and his father's name was given as Calvin Wallingford. This is probably confused with his brother Calvin. |
