This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Lenora Wallingford was born on 12 May 1831 in MaineG. (The 1850 census gives her age as 24, implying birth around 1826 rather than 1831, but Gove Genealogy gives this date and agrees with age on gravestone of 26y, 1m, 14d.)1,2 |

Edmund Gove
M, b. 30 December 1826, d. 1873
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Edmund Gove was born on 30 December 1826 in Henniker, Merrimack County, New HampshireG. (1850 census says he was born in Maine.)1 |
Marriage* | He married Lenora Wallingford, daughter of Thomas Wallingford and Anna McCrillis, on 26 March 1848 in Berwick, York County, MaineG. They were both living in Berwick when they got married.2 |
Marriage* | He married Angelia Dearborn Tibbetts, daughter of Lewis Tibbetts and Hannah Roberts, on 4 March 1861.3 |
Death* | Edmund died in 1873 in WisconsinG.3 |
| After Lenora died Edmund became a farmer and lumber dealer in Little Falls, Wisconsin from 1860 to 1872. The Gove Genealogy says that he finally moved back to Berwick, Maine on account of his second wife Angelia Dearborn Tibbetts' health, but apparently went back to Wisconsin for some reason because he died there. He had three additional children by his second wife.4 |

This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Rebecca Wallingford was born circa December 1833 in MaineG. (Based on age of 22 yrs. 4 mos. on gravestone. Place from 1850 census.) |
Death* | Rebecca died on 13 April 1856. She was buried in a private cemetery on the north side of Pine Hill Road in Berwick, Maine.1 |
| The Wallingford Genealogy, p.88, says she married 12 April 1856, but doesn't name a spouse. It probably meant to say she died on that date, even though the gravestone reads the 13th. |
Abigail Wallingford
F, b. circa 1835, d. 28 July 1860
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Abigail Wallingford was born circa 1835 in MaineG. (Based on the 1850 census of Berwick.) |
Death* | Abigail died on 28 July 1860. The cemetery inscription is clear that Abby, wife of John Stearns, Jr., died on that date, but we have only Shackford for evidence that she was Abigail Wallingford, daughter of Thomas. She was buried in a small private cemetery on the north side of Pine Hill Road in Berwick, Maine.1 |
Lucinda Wallingford
F, b. 27 January 1838, d. 29 November 1862
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Lucinda Wallingford was born on 27 January 1838 in MaineG. (Place from 1850 census of Berwick, date calculated from age at death on gravestone.) |
Marriage* | She married George W. Ham on 10 May 1858 in Somersworth, Strafford County, New HampshireG. She was "of Berwick" at the time of her marriage.1 |
Death* | Lucinda died on 29 November 1862. She was buried in a private cemetery with her parents and some sisters on the north side of Pine Hill Road in Berwick, Maine. The secondary source that records this gravestone reads "Ham, Luenda, wieo [sic] George W." Whether that should be "wife" or "widow" is unknown, but given that it was only three years after they married it is probably "wife".2 |
| Shackford says she married a Charles Ham, and this is apparently based on the word of Mrs. Laura A. Wallingford, wife of Lucinda's brother Tristram's son Joseph. Given the fact that "Luenda" Ham is buried in the family plot it would seem that Mrs. Laura Wallingford got the name wrong. Not surprising given that Lucinda died in 1862 after being married only a few years and Shackford was working on his book in the 1920s. Shackford also leaves room for two children for this couple, again apparently based on the word of Mrs. Laura Wallingford.3 |

Birth* | Jane Wallingford was born circa 1839.1,2 |
| She wasn't listed with her family in the 1850 census of Berwick, Maine. According to Shackford, who apparently got his information from Jane's brother Tristram's son Joseph's wife Laura A. Wallingford, Jane married twice, first to a Batchelder and second to a Chase. She had one child by Mr. Chase.3 |

Birth* | Amos Wallingford Pike was born on 15 December 1819 in Somersworth, Strafford County, New HampshireG. The Rollinsford Town Report record of his death stated that he was born in Rollinsford, but as it wasn't a town at that point we'll assume he was actually born in Somersworth, part of which later became Rollinsford.1 |
Marriage* | He married Elizabeth M. Chadbourne, daughter of James Chadbourne and Susanna McIntire, on 20 May 1844.1 |
Death* | Amos died of Bright's Disease on 30 December 1898, probably in Rollinsford, Strafford County, New HampshireG. He was buried in the Salmon Falls old town cemetery in Rollinsford.2,3 |
| In 1860 and 1870 the family was living in Rollinsford, N.H. Amos's mother Betsy and aunt Polly Wallingford were living with them. Amos was a farmer.4 One of his sons, Robert Gordon Pike, 1851-1917, was a Chief Justice of the Superior Court of N.H.5 He administered his father-in-law's will in 1852, and his mother-in-law died at their home in Somersworth, leaving Elizabeth $600 and some real estate.6 They had three children in all.Elizabeth Chadbourne was from South Berwick, Maine.7 The Pike Genealogy, an unreliable source, states that he married second, Mrs. Julia (Hubbard) Shaw.8 |

David Wallingford
M, b. 4 April 1819, d. 22 February 1903
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | David Wallingford was born on 4 April 1819 in Milton, Strafford County, New HampshireG. (From his gravestone.)1,2 |
Marriage* | He married Susan A. Jones, daughter of Joshua Jones and Sally Cowell, say 1844. |
Death* | David died of old age on 22 February 1903 in Milton, Strafford County, New HampshireG. He was buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Maine.34 |
| David's stepfather Levi Jones kept an account book that can be found in the Special Collections room of the University of New Hampshire library. In it he mentions the employment of David Wallingford Jr. This may refer to this David or to his uncle, his father's brother. The designation "Jr." would seem to indicate the uncle, whose father's name was David, however the fact that this David is Levi's stepson presents another possibility. Another employee at the store was Nahum Tasker who married the uncle's sister Mary. The first entry mentioning David's employment says he began work 21 April 1834, and the last was on 24 July 1847. Levi died a month later.
When the 1850 census of Milton was taken David was a 31-year old farmer, born N.H., with a farm worth $1000. With him were his wife Susan A., 30, born N.H., and daughters Sarah E., 5, born N.H., and Clara J., 8 months, born N.H. They were living on the same farm as David's brother Ira and his family. Ten years later they were still in Milton, with one more child, a son C.M. Wallingford, age 7. His farm was worth $1000 and the value of his personal estate was $500. In 1870 David was still a Milton farmer on a farm worth $2000 and with personal belongings worth $743. Their son Clarence M., age 17, was a farm labourer and their daughter Alta L.G. was also with them, aged 8.
The published vital records of Lebanon, Maine show a birth for an Ida E. Wallingford, daughter of David and Susan A. born on 12 June 1856. This record was originally taken from the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Lebanon near the Milton town line5. However, abstracted records of that cemetery3 that include added details from the Milton Town reports clearly show this person to be Ida E. (Downs) Wallingford, wife of Clarence. |

Birth* | Thomas Calvin Neal Wallingford was born on 23 July 1848 in Dover, Strafford County, New HampshireG. (Obituary.) |
Marriage* | He married Clara B. Sterling, daughter of James Sterling and Clarissa Amazeen, on 23 December 1871 in Dover, Strafford County, New HampshireG.1 |
Death* | Thomas died of general arteriosclerosis on 3 July 1918 at home, 133 Portland Ave. in Dover.2,3 |
Burial* | He was buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover.4 |
| According to his obituary, Calvin lived in Dover all his life. He was employed as a machinist at the Cocheco Manufacturing Company until he retired a few years before his death. He was usually referred to as "T. Calvin N. Wallingford" or just "Calvin N." in old records, as well as on his gravestone. Shackford states that he was a machinist in the employ of Pacific Mills.5 When his son Kirk was born in 1891 Calvin gave his occupation as 'engineer.'
When the 1900 census was taken on June 2nd the family was living at 13 First St. in Dover. Calvin was employed as a machinist. Clara was the mother of six children, five of whom were still living, all five of the children still living at home.6 On their daughter Maud's marriage record in 1893 her mother's name was given as Eveline Sterling rather than Clara. |
