Her obituary appeared in the 28 September 1954 Central Missouri Leader of Camdenton, Missouri and read as follows:

Funeral Services For Mrs Ola Balch Sept. 27. Funeral services were conducted Mon. afternoon at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Ola Balch, who passed away at the Matthews Nursing Home Saturday, September 25, with Rev. J. L. Stone, pastor of the Emmanuel Chapel Bible Church of Lebanon officiating. Interment was made in the Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of the Bankson-Woolery Funeral Home of Camdenton. Ola Atkins was born in Kansas City, Missouri, November 10, 1868, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Atkins. When a young woman she was united in marriage to George E. Balch, who passed away on May 15, 1952. She leaves but one brother, Kent W. Atkins, of Kansas City, Missouri.7
