By March 1940, when their daughter Susan was born, they were living at 65 Semont Road in Dorchester and Charles was working as a clerk. When son David was born in 1949 they were add the same address and Charles was now a liquor dealer.4,5,6 |

In Salem, Jan. 27, at 5 Victory road, Charles H. Reardon, husband of M. Susan (Dolan) Reardon and son of the late John W. and Sarah E. (Blaney) Reardon. Friends may pay their respects at the Henry J. O'Donnell and Sons funeral home, 46 Washington square, where the funeral will take place Monday morning at 8:15 followed by a requiem high mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
REARDON FUNERAL. The funeral of Charles H. Reardon was held from the Henry J. O'Donnell & Sons funeral home yesterday followed by a requiem high mass in Immaculate Conception church, celebrated by Rev. John J. McCarthy. The large gathering included delegations from the Mary Alley hospital in Marblehead, Sears, Roebuck, Salem health hospital and Phillips school Grade Six. Also present were Mayor Francis X. Collins, his secretary, Thomas Griffin; George Filion, principal of Phillips school; Philip O'Donnell, a teacher there; Dr. John J. Toomey and Peter Thornton. There were many floral tributes, spiritual bouquets and enrollments. Presented to the family in memory of Mr. Reardon were a communion set, chimes and incense burner. Seated in the sanctuary was Rt. Rev. William J. Callahan, pastor of St. Stephen's church, Framingham. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery with committal by Rev. John J. McCarthy and Msgr. Callahan. The bearers were John Dolan, Sr. and Jr., Charles, Arthur, Joseph and Henry Dolan, 3d, relatives of Mr. Reardon.8 |

SALEM — Mr. Charles H. Reardon Sr., 74, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at Salem Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband of Anne (Moscaritolo) Reardon. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Mary Susan (Dolan) Reardon, He was raised in Dorchester then Salem, a graduate of Salem High School. He worked as a tour bus driver for Michaud Bus Lines for several years. A master carpenter by trade, he worked on several projects on the North Shore. An honorably discharged veteran, Charles served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War as a sub mariner. A longtime active resident of the City of Salem, Charles was selected as a member of the Board of Directors of the City of Salem, Commission on Disabilities, where he was currently serving as Vice Chariman. He was committed to making the City of Salem a better place for people to work and live with disabilities. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem and was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Veragua Council #76 in Salem. Always a smile on his face and a deep concern for others, Charlie will be deeply missed by all. He was knowledgeable of the history of Salem, and if engaged he would talk forever as all who knew him would attest to. He loved to cook and made a mean clam chowder. He was an avid sports fan, a scout leader and a coach for youth football and rec baseball. In addition to his loving wife of fifty one years, Charles is survived by his daughters, Donna Goldberg and Michael Kennedy of Wakefield, N.H. and Carol Maynard and her husband Glen of Salem, his son Chuck Reardon and Elaine Harrison of Beverly. A devoted grandfather to Savahna Reardon, Harley and Jordan Maynard and Candace and Dane Mullin, and great-grampy to Emma. He is survived by his brother David Reardon and his wife Sandy of Salem and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Sue Ellen (Reardon) Puska. ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. Followed by his funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions for sympathy may be made in Charlie's memory to Children's Hospital of Boston.3 |

Besides her husband, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Susan (Dolan) Reardon of Salem; 2 sons, Douglas, 9 and Gary, 8; a daughter, Karen, 4; a brother, David Reardon of Salem, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the Francis L. Conway and Sons Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Requiem High Mass in St. Richard’s church, Danvers, at 9 a.m.5 |

BEVERLY – Catherine “Gally” F. Dolan, 78, of Roosevelt Avenue, a former Salem resident, died at the Shaughnessy Hospital Monday evening following a long illness. Born and educated in Peabody, she later lived in California and Salem. Mrs. Dolan worked at Blood’s Grocery Store in Salem before marrying and moving to California. She also worked as a waitress at the Kernwood Country Club and in the cafeteria of Salem State College until her retirement 15 years ago. Mrs. Dolan is survived by a son, Edward J. Dolan of Washington. D.C., a daughter, Catherine F. Sarantopoulos of Beverly, a son-in-law, Michael Sarantopoulos of Beverly, four granddaughters; Mary Helen Sarnatopoulos of Beverly, Janine, Erin and Kerri Dolan all of Middleton and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Henry T. Dolan, and daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Walsh) Fay. She was also the mother of the late Henry T. Dolan III, and sister of the late Augustin J. Fay, Leo T. Fay, John Fay, Teresa Bresnahan and Eva M. Fay. Mrs. Dolan’s funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Friday from the Murphy Funeral Home and will be followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. James Church.4 |

MIDDLETON – Henry T. “Hank” Dolan, 41, of 140 River St., a landscape contractor, died Saturday in Salem Hospital following a three-month illness with cancer. He was the husband of Doreen M. (Toto) Dolan. Born in Yuba City, CA, he was the son of Mrs. Catherine (Fay) Dolan of Salem and the late Henry T. Dolan Jr. A resident of Salem for many years, he attended St. James School and St. Mary’s High School of Lynn and was a graduate of Salem High School , class of 1963, and Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute, class of 1964. He has lived in Middleton since 1975. Mr. Dolan was a self-employed landscape contractor for the past 23 years and was a member of both the Landscape Contractors of America and the Massachusetts Nursery Association. He was an active member of both the Danvers and Salem YMCAs and the Sports Haven Golf League. He was a girls’ basketball coach and general manager of the girls basketball program in Middleton. He was also a member of the American Water Ski Associatoin and was an active competitor in the circuit prior to his illness. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three daughters, Janine, Erin and Kerri Dolan, all of Middleton; a sister Miss Catherine Dolan of Salem; a brother, Edward Dolan of Parkridge, NJ; and his aunt and godmother, Miss Eva Fay of Salem; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Church, Boston St., Tuesday at 10 a.m.3 |
