Birth*George York was born between 1765 and 1770 in Epping, Rockingham County, New HampshireG.1
Very little is known about this George that appeared early in Exeter and Epping. The facts associated with him could even apply to more than one person who lived in the area at the same time. Given that the daughter Mary Ann was born in 1822 and there is no female in the household aged in that range in 1830 it does seem like different families. Her family was a George from Epping while the census records are for a George from Exeter. They are kept together for the time being just to have a single place for information on this unknown George or Georges.

His place of birth comes from the death record of his daughter Mary Ann Pease in 1896, so it seems likely that he is a member of one of the Epping York families. That same source said he was a farmer.

In the 1810 census of Exeter his household consisted of 2 males under 10, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 26-44, 1 female 26-44, and 1 female over 45.

The name of his wife is presently unknown, but on the death record of his daughter Mary Ann gives the birthplace of her mother as Lee, N.H., even though it gave no name for her.

Birth*Everett C. Stone was born circa 1851 in MassachusettsG.1
He grew up in Newburyport, Mass. and Killingly, Conn. By the time the 1870 census of Killingly was taken he was still living with his parents but his occupation was given as printer, probably working for his father at the Windham County Transcript.

A short bio of him appeared in print in the book "The Biographical review; this volume contains biographical sketches of the leading citizens of Hampshire County, Massachusetts (Boston: Biographical Review Pub. Co., 1896), p.62-3. EVERETT C. STONE, editor and proprietor of the Northampton Daily Herald, was born at Newburyport, Mass. He is a son of John Q. A. Stone, who is now a resident of Danielson, Conn., publishing the Windham County Transcript, and is one of the oldest and best-known editors in that State. Everett C. Stone received his elementary education in the public schools. He began to attend Phillips Academy at Andover, intending to take a full course of study, but failing health obliged him to abandon his purpose. He early became acquainted with the "art preservative," and made his first business venture in 1871 by starting the Putnam Patriot at Putnam, Conn. He continued its publication eleven years, selling out in 1882, and removing to Worcester, Mass. There Mr. Stone engaged in job printing and book publishing. He also established the Worcester Home Journal, a weekly paper, which he disposed of in 1885. Coming then to Northampton, he bought the Hampshire Herald, which was then published as a two-cent daily. Lowering the price to one cent, and changing the name to the Northampton Daily Herald, he has since successfully continued its publication. It is the oldest daily paper published in Hampshire County, and under his efficient management the circulation has increased sixfold. Mr. Stone, when reducing the price of the paper, increased its size, which is now double what it was originally. He has also erected the new three-story block in which his printing establishment is located. The plant, which is one of the best-equipped in this vicinity, includes a Webb perfecting press and type-setting machine.

Birth*Charles D. Stone was born circa 1868 in MassachusettsG.1
Death*He died of heart disease on 3 October 1915 at the Winthrop Hotel in New London, New London County, ConnecticutG.2
His obituary appeared in the 5 October 1915 Hartford Courant and read as follows:

Died in New London. Charles D. Stone of this city died suddenly in the Winthrop Hotel at New London Sunday night of heart disease, according to a message received here Monday afternoon by Chief of Police E. H. Richmond. The news of Mr. Stone's sudden death came as a great surprise. Chief Richmond called at the Stone home on High Street and broke the news to Mrs. Stone, and she was prostrated. Mr. Stone had been a resident of Willimantic for several years. When he first came here he was sent by the "Norwich Bulletin" as their local correspondent to succeed Robert O. Snow, who had been appointed superintendent of the state capitol by Daniel P. Dunn, state comptroller. After several months' employment with "The Bulletin," Mr. Stone severed his connection with that publication and started a small newspaper called "The Willimantic Call," a weekly publication, which lived but a short time. Then Mr. Stone went into the advertising field, promoting advertising propositions for various newspapers, and was located in Westerly, R.I., business-wise, until his death. He spent weekends at his home here. Mr. Stone leaves a wife and two daughters in this city. He also leaves a brother in Massachusetts. Mr. Stone was the son of the late John Q. A. Stone, who during his life was a well-known newspaper man in Eastern Connecticut, being editor and publisher of "The Windham County Transcript." It is expected that the burial of Mr. Charles D. Stone will be in Danielson, although the funeral arrangements have not been made yet.3
