Marriage*He married Ellen Maria Williams, daughter of Edward Evan Williams and Jane Owens, on 2 May 1877 in Boston, Suffolk County, MassachusettsG
Death*George H. York died of cirrhosis of the liver on 28 June 1934 at home, 22 Margaret Street in Arlington, Middlesex County, MassachusettsG.2
Burial*He was buried on 2 July 1934 in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, Middlesex County, MassachusettsG.2
The middle name on his birth record was Edwin, but the 1860 census and his mother's 1919 death record give his middle initial as H.

He was the informant on his mother's 1919 death record, living with her at 6 Clarendon Avenue in Somerville, Mass.

The 1930 census found him living on 36 Chandler Street in Arlington, Mass. with his wife and daughter Winifred Pond and her family. He was 76 years old and apparently retired, living in a rental property. The census further states that he was not a veteran. When he died four years later he and Ellen were living at 22 Margaret Street in Arlington.

George was a foreman at the Boston Post Office, having worked there for 45 years, retiring in Oct 1921.
The name on his birth record was George Edwin York.

His placement in the family is uncertain, as no birth record of any children of his father William have been found before 1819. However the 1820 and 1830 censuses do indicate the presence of a male of the younger William's age so for now it will be assumed he belongs in this family.

Birth*Male York was born circa 1817.
His place in the family is presumed from the makeup of the family in the 1820 census of Exeter that shows 2 males under the age of 5. The year of 1817 is a guesstimate based again on census records. There is only one male listed in the family in 1830 aged 15-19 which means that this male child had died, or he or his brother William were living elsewhere.

Birth*Male York was born circa 1809.
Death*He may have died in November 1815.
His place in the family is based on the 1810 census which shows 1 male under the age of 10 in the family. He is not accounted for in the 1820 census so likely died before that time. He may have died around 16 Nov 1815 because in 1819 his father was sued for nonpayment of a debt to a local doctor for medical care at their home between 16 Jun 1814 and 16 Nov 1815. This could have been for care for a young son who subsequently died.
