Birth*William Lorenzo Wallingford was born on 15 January 1834? In Alton, Strafford County, New HampshireG.1
Marriage*He married Josephine de Coursey, daughter of John de Coursey and Josephine (?), on 14 July 1864 in Roxbury, Norfolk County, MassachusettsG. William and Josephine were both living in Boston when they got married. He was employed as a teamster at the time.2
Death*William died of a cerebral hemorrhage on 16 January 1913 at 31 Hayward St. in Brockton, Plymouth County, MassachusettsG. He was buried in Ader Grove Cemetery in Dorchester, Mass. on January 19th.3
In Apr 1856 he was a truckman living at 47 Harvard Street in Boston4, probably with his brother Hiram and family.

When the 1860 census was taken he was living with his brother Hiram and family, as well as his brother Joseph and his new wife, in Boston's Ward 8. He was employed as a teamster at the time.

He was living in Cambridgeport, Mass. when he applied for membership in the S.A.R. The 1900 census of Boston has William and Josephine living at 322 Tremont Street. William was a retired police officer at the time, and Josephine was said to be the mother of zero children, and came to this country in 1890. Since she was married in Roxbury in 1864 this date of immigration is way off. A nurse was living with them at the time, which may suggest that Josephine was under her care, given that she died less than two months later.

The 1910 census finds him living at 8 Crowell Street in Brockton, Mass. His nephew Fred H. Mason, who was age 60 and single, was living with him. When he died in 1913 he was living at 31 Harvard Street in Brockton, although the death record, which gave this address, also states that he died at 31 Hayward Street. There is a Harvard and a Hayward St. in Brockton, so whether this is just a coincidence or whether one is incorrect, is unknown. His occupation was listed as retired police officer. Fred H. Mason of Brockton, presumably his nephew from the 1910 census, was the informant. How he fits into the family is unknown at present. He may be a nephew on his wife's side of the family.

They had no children.5

Her marriage record, with gives her parents' names, states that she was born in St. John's "N.S.", but this is probably a clerical error and should be Newfoundland rather than Nova Scotia. The 1900 census says she was born in French Canada in May 1838.

They were living in Boston when their son Edwin/Edward was born in 1875 and Edwin was employed as a bookkeeper. They were living on Winter St. in Boston when their sons Edward and Herbert died in 1880. The White Genealogy states that they lived in Dorchester, a part of Boston, and Edwin was a bookeeper. They were alive when the book was written, this volume being published in 1900.4

Shackford has an unconnected Edwin Wallingford, married to a Mary E. Lord (born in Boston) who had a child Helen Louise Wallingford born in Hyde Park, Mass. on 9 September 1890.5 This doesn't appear to be the same person since Edwin is still married to Addie (spelled Annie) in the 1900 census and there is no daughter Helen.

In the 1900 census they were living at 15 Chamberlin St. in Boston and Edwin was employed as a bookkeeper. Addie's parents were living with them. Addie was said to be the mother of three children, only one of whom was then living.6
When Addie died in 1921 they were living at 7A Harvard St. in Boston.
