Marriage* | She married second Edgar W. Wallingford, son of Tristram Wallingford and Susan Brock, on 9 June 1891 in Rochester, Strafford County, New HampshireG. Lucy was divorced from a man by the last name of Sylvester at the time of her second marriage. At the time of their marriage Edgar lived in East Rochester and worked in a shoe shop, while Lucy was a mill hand living in South Waterboro, Maine.2,3 |
Marriage* | Lucy Kimball married third Warren W. Daggett, son of Nathaniel P. Daggett and Adriana Jacobs, on 4 December 1918 Warren was a carpenter and they were both living in Gonic at the time. It said it was the second marriage for both of them, but was actually Lucy's third. in Rochester, Strafford County, New HampshireG.2 |
| She was a resident of Kennebunk, Maine at some point around 1905 as there is a listing for her in the Kennebunk Town Register4 for that year that reads, "Kimball, Lucy (married Wallingford) housework Rochester, NH". This indicates that in 1905 she was married to a man named Wallingford and living in Rochester. Her appearance in this directory signifies that she used to live in Kennebunk.
She was living in Gonic, N.H. when her daughter Josie was married for the second time in 1932. |

- Her 1891 second marriage states that she was born in South Waterboro, Maine, while her 1918 third marriage and the birth of her son Collis says it was Alfred, Maine. The year of 1866 is based on the fact that she was age 25 at her second marriage and 51 at her third, and 30 when son Maynard was born in 1897, although Collis' birth record's age of 36 suggests 1864. Parentage comes from third marriage record. Her parents aren't mentioned on her second marriage record. Birth record of her daughter Josie in 1905 says she was 39 and born in Alfred, and Josie's second marriage record in 1932 says her mother was 65 and born in Alfred.

- Death certificate. Shackford gives the place as "Hopedale", with no state. This is likely Hopedale, Mass., which didn't become a town until 1886, having originally been a part of Milford. Her death certificate, however, says she was born in North Andover, Mass., and as the informant was a Miss Ethel Downing - a possible close relative who may have known where she was born, this will be used as her likely place of birth. Also the death certificate gave her father's name as James W. Downing, and Shackford as William J. Downing, so we'll use James William as the likely name.

This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Alfred J. Gustin Wallingford was born. |
| In 1922 Alfred J. Wallingford was living with the widow Mary A. (Gustin) Wallingford in Dorchester, Mass., and his name was said to have been changed from Gustin. He is likely a son of one of Mary's sisters or other close relation, who was adopted, either formally or informally, by the Wallingfords. When Charles Wallingford wrote his 1942 Wallingford Genealogy he attempted to communicate with an Alfred J. Wallingford of 48 Sigmore St. in Boston but the letter was returned as undelivered.1 |
