Birth*Richard Higgins Atkins was born on 2 August 1794 in Truro, Barnstable County, MassachusettsG.1 
Marriage*He married Sophia Rich on 20 January 1818 in Truro, Barnstable County, MassachusettsG.2 
These two children born thirteen years apart are the only two known surviving children for Richard. He did have two sons who died young, one on 9 Oct 1820 at the age of about four days, and the other on 25 Jul 1821, age unknown but called an infant.3
