Marriage* | He married second Lydia R. Horne on 7 November 1865 in Dover, Strafford County, New HampshireG. Still Lydia R. Wallingford in 1860, she appears in the 1870 census of Rochester as Lydia R. Gale, wife of Philander. Her daughter Ellen M. Wallingford was still living with the family at the time. Dover city reports record a marriage between Lydia R. Wallingford and Fernando Gale on 7 November 1865, and this is in all probability the marriage record for Lydia and Philander.1 Based on the census record Philander was born about 1832 in Massachusetts. |

Samuel Wallingford of Wakefield, N.H. and Fanny Tibbetts of Shapleigh filed a marriage intention in Shapleigh on 2 May 1812 and were married there on 29 July. There is no proof as yet that this is the couple who later appears in the below-mentioned census records, but it seems likely.1 |
Death* | Samuel died on 21 January 1871. He was buried in the Milton Mills (N.H.) Cemetery.2 |
| His place in the genealogy is unknown. He appears in the 1850 census of Milton, N.H., aged 60, a farmer born in Maine with a farm worth only $200. With him are Fanny Wallingford, age 57 born Maine, and Frances Wallingford, age 20 born N.H.3 They also appear in the 1870 census of Milton, although are listed in separate, but neighboring, households. Samuel, age 77, born Maine, appears in the household of Fanny Robinson, 54, born Maine, and Frank [C.?] Robinson, 11, born N.H., while right next door or in the same house is the family of Samuel Hooper, 42, a carpenter born in Maine. After a listing of six Hooper children comes Fanny Wallingford, age 74, born Maine. |

This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | George W. Tasker was born circa 1830 in New HampshireG. His date and place of birth are based on the 1850 and 1870 censuses. In the former1 he appears as a 20-year old shoemaker and member of the family of Nahum and Mary (Wallingford) Tasker. He might not be their child, but it appears reasonably likely so he is tentatively included here. He wasn't with the family in 1860 and this researcher hasn't looked hard for him in that year's census, but a likely candidate for this individual was located in Milton in 1870 where he is 40 years old with what appears to be a wife and two children. |
Marriage* | He married Lydia S. Jones on 20 September 1855 in Lebanon, York County, MaineG.2 |
