Cyrus Hamblen
M, b. circa 1846, d. 5 November 1890
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Cyrus Hamblen was born circa 1846 in MaineG. He was age 4 in the 1850 census of Portland, Maine. |
Marriage* | He married first Annie Allen, daughter of Thomas Allen and Margaret (?), on 2 January 1868 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, MassachusettsG. Cyrus was a tin peddler and they were both living in Cambridge when they got married.1 |
Marriage* | Cyrus Hamblen married second Annie O'Shaughnessy, daughter of James O'Shaughnessy and Mary (?), before October 1883.2 |
Marriage* | Cyrus Hamblen married second Isabelle Foster, daughter of Thomas Foster and Elizabeth (?), on 6 December 1889 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, MassachusettsG. This was the second marriage for both of them. They were both living in Cambridge at the time.3 |
Death* | Cyrus Hamblen died of a dislocated neck on 5 November 1890 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, MassachusettsG.4 |
| It's likely that the first two marriages recorded here are either for the same Annie, or one of them is to a different Cyrus. The record of his marriage to Isabelle (Foster) McCormick said it was his second marriage. It's possible his marriage to Annie Allen is for a different Cyrus. The father of the groom was listed as Timothy, and no mother was given at all. He apparently married a second woman named Annie later on, though that record has not been located and may have taken place in N.H. where they had a child born in 1883. The second Annie was born around 1852 so was likely too young to be the first Annie married in 1868. It is possible, but why the last name of Allen on the first marriage? It was repeated in a newspaper notice of the marriage as well. Unless the person recording it somehow confused her maiden name for his father's actual first name, and then the newspaper notice reported what it said in the marriage record. Seems unlikely though. More research is necessary.
His occupation when he married and when he died was as a peddler or tin peddler. Isabelle was a cook on her marriage record. |

This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Anna Hamblen was born circa 1848 in MaineG. |
Death* | She may have died by Dec 1852. Anna appears as a two year old in the 1850 census, but then there is an 8 year old Anna in 1860, so she must have died by the time the second one was born on 11 Dec 1852. |

Joan Arnold
F, b. circa 1567, d. sometime after 2 April 1635
This research is a work in progress, taken from sources of varying reliability. The information should be verified before being relied upon.
Birth* | Joan Arnold was born circa 1567. This is an approximation made by Anderson and the Sanborns and is based on date of marriage assuming she was 20 at the time, but on 2 April 1635 she was said to be aged 65 when "enrolled at London, with a certificate of conformity from the minister of St. Albans, Hertfordshire, as a passenger for New England on the Planter" [Hotten list, 45]. This would have made her only 16 at the time of her marriage, but that is certainly possible.1 |
Marriage* | She married Walter Antrobus, son of William Antrobus and Elizabeth Rolfe, on 8 February 1586/87 in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.2 |
Death* | Joan died sometime after 2 April 1635. In the Great Migration, 1634-35 (1:68) there is record of her being booked for passage to New England on this date, however there is no record to prove that she ever came over at all. "She may have chosen at the last minute not to make the trip, or she may have died aboard ship. If she did make the passage to New England, she probably resided in Ipswich with her daughter and son-in-law", the Tuttles. |
