LITCHFIELD, N.H. — Allan C. Evans, 47, died Feb. 5 at a Manchester hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Lebanon on Nov. 3, 1945, the son of Elmer D. and Jeanne P. (Mitchell) Evans. Mr. Evans had resided in Lebanon and Canaan before moving to Litchfield 20 years ago. Mr. Evans was employed by Midway Excavators. He leaves his wife of 28 years, Sheila G. (Bennett) Evans of Litchfield; a son, Troy A. of Litchfield; a daughter, Cheri R. Evans of Litchfield; his parents of Canaan; two brothers, Ronald E. of Canaan and Rick G. of Canaan; two sisters, Donna M. Burke and Joy A. Roberts, both of Amherst, N.H; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service was held yesterday at the Litchfield Community Church-Presbyterian. Burial will be at a later date in the Canaan Street Cemetery. The Cate & Johnson Funeral Home of Manchester was in charge of the arrangements.4 |

Richard E. Burke, 81, of Lynn, MA passed away on March 6, 2020, at the Briarcliffe Gardens in Johnston, RI. He was the loving husband of Donna M. (Evans) Burke for over 57 years. He was pre-deceased by his parents of Lynn, MA. Richard graduated from Northeastern University in 1960 earning degrees in Chemistry and Biology. He worked as a chemist for the Monadnock Paper Co., in Monadnock, NH, for many years, retiring in 2000. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Florida for 18 years and then returned to Rhode Island. He was a US Army Korean Conflict veteran. He was a member of the NRA and the local Rod & Gun Club in FL and enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hounding, astronomy and science. He and his wife were inseparable as they enjoyed their retirement sharing many of his hobbies together. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Joy Daignault and her husband Ronald and David Burke and his wife Lori, grandson, Christopher McIntyre and his wife Jenna, great grandchildren, Asher and Aiden McIntyre and a sister, Linda Lucas and her husband Dick. Calling hours will be held Monday, March 9, 2020, in the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield, from 11 AM until 3 PM. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard's memory may be made to Briarcliffe Gardens in Johnston, RI.3 |
