| When he filled out his Korean War draft card in Jan 1951 Lee was a student at the University of New Hampshire. He graduated in 1954 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
When his mother died in Sep 1977 and his father in Nov 1982 he was living in Harvard, Mass. |
| Their engagement announcement appeared in the 17 March 1957 Sunday News of Ridgewood, New Jersey and read as follows: Lt. Perkins Engaged to Miss Garside. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice E. Garside of West Boylston, Mass., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Farmer, to Lieutenant Lee Sage Perkins, U.S.A., son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Perkins of 405 Spring Ave, Ridgewood. Miss Garside was graduated from Major Edwards High School in West Boyiston and is a senior at the University of New Hampshire majoring in music education. At present she is practice teaching in the elementary and secondary schools in Concord, N. H. She is a member of Theta Upsilon sorority, for which she was chaplain her junior year. Lleutenant Perkins, stationed in Winthrop, Mass., was graduated from Ridgewood High School and in 1954 from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. Prior to military service he was associated with Western Electric Co. in New York City. An August wedding is planned.4 |

Ann Garside Perkins. ( March 10, 1936 - October 12, 2019 ) Ann Garside Perkins, age 83, of Kennebunkport ME, formerly of Harvard, MA passed away on Saturday October 12th, 2019 in front of the fire at her Lake Winnipesaukee cottage surrounded by her loving family. Born in West Boylston, MA, the daughter of Mildred and Maurice Garside, Ann graduated from UNH in 1957 with a B.A. in Music Education and alongside her husband was very active in the Alumni Association and Theta U Sorority. Ann loved caring for her family, cooking, cross country skiing and anything purple. Singing in the Harvard Pro Musica with her husband, directing the children’s and adult choirs at her local church and playing/teaching the piano were some of her most treasured activities. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lee Sage Perkins, her three children Jeffrey G. Perkins of West Boylston, MA, Steven L. Perkins and his wife Mary of Simsbury CT and Debra P. Bonollo and her husband Brian of Shrewsbury MA; She leaves 9 grandchildren and growing numbers of great-grandchildren and many other family and friends who will sadly miss her. Our family is so grateful to the exceptional care given by Kennebunkport Town Nurses and the caregivers from Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Southern Maine (www.hospiceofsouthernmaine.org) which was so instrumental in her care at the end of her days. A memorial service celebrating Ann’s life is scheduled at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 27th at the Congregational Church of Harvard, 5 Still River Road, Harvard, MA.4 |
