	His obituary appeared in the 18 August 2016 Fort Bragg Advocate-News of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and read as follows: rank Atkins Stanley, Jr., 80, of Fort Bragg, passed away of on July 3, 2016, at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, California. Frank is survived by his daughter and son, Sherry Rossiter Kittle and Daniel Rossiter; two granddaughters, Caroline and Kristena Kittle; two grandsons, Ryan Kittle and Morgan Rossiter; and nephew, Frank, in Los Angeles. Frank was born in New London, Connecticut, to Thelma and Frank Stanley, Sr., on Dec. 12, 1935. After graduating from Westchester High School in Los Angeles, Frank went on to earn a BBA in business from Loyola University in 1959 and an MBA from USC in 1963. Frank and his former wife, Margie, were married in November of 1973. He had two step-children, Sherry and Daniel Rossiter, who he provided for and raised with all the love a father could. Frank spent many years working for Honeywell before he retired and moved his family to Mendocino in 1981. Frank had been an active member of the Mendocino Presbyterian Church ever since moving to Mendocino. Frank was a rare person in that he made it his life's goal to serve. Moved by his faith, he truly lived the message he believed, making deep connections with those his spirit touched as he coached youth athletics for over 20 years in both the Mendocino and Fort Bragg school systems, worked as camp director and caretaker at the Mendocino Christian Camp, and served as a youth leader at Mendocino Presbyterian Church. Frank's positive influence helped shape and inspire more than two generations who grew up on the coast. He loved playing tennis, going for walks and body surfing (being a self-described beach bum). On any given day he could reliably be found working out at the gym. In a continuation of his commitment to service, he was a deacon at the Mendocino Presbyterian Church as well as worked to provide care to the local homeless community. The family of Frank Stanley wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors at Mendocino Coast District Hospital and Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa for their dedicated and loving care. Sincere thanks and deep appreciation are also extended to Frank's family and friends who provided care and support to him on the Coast. A memorial service was held on Aug. 13, 2016, at Mendocino Presbyterian Church.2
