West Ham, Essex, England
West Ham was an ancient civil and ecclesiastical parish in Essex that became heavily urbanized in the 19th century; it was constituted a county borough in 1889 (remaining outside the County of London) and entered Greater London in 1965, when it was merged with East Ham to form the London Borough of Newham.
