Christ Church, Spitalfields, Middlesex, England

Christ Church Spitalfields was created in 1729 as a new civil and ecclesiastical parish carved out of the ancient parish of Stepney, taking its name from the newly built Hawksmoor church and the long-established Spitalfields district. The parish retained that name unchanged while its county designation shifted from Middlesex to the County of London in 1889 and to Greater London in 1965.
